VIKRAM VEDHA - An intelligent COP-GANGSTER battle. Very few films by creating such a huge hype live up to its expectations, but here VikramVedha totally exceeds our expectations and makes us watch the film in awe with a power packed screenplay. Pushkkar-Gayathri will reach heights after this strong writing and film making.

Super good gangster flick of Kollywood. Movie scores with picture perfect cast. This cat n mouse game entertains with intelligence. Maddy - VijaySethupathy chemistry simply terrific. Each scene they appear together is pure mass.

To begin with, Vikram Vedha is a movie that redefines the age old cop versus criminal cliché drama, by delivering it on a completely new palette. Huge gutsy and waiting game played by director duo Pushkar and Gayathri are coming back to the big screen after a solid hiatus close to a decade after "Va Quarter Cutting". Vikram Vedha personifies their strong comeback in the best way possible which wouldn’t have been possible without the non-egoistic lead cast essayed by Vijay Sethupathi and  Madhavan.

Not only is the film entertaining from start to finish, it’s equally engaging and it succeeds in testing the intellect of audiences unlike any recent film in Kollywood.

Madhavan performs such a kickass role with ease and it just shows he is not a "Chocolate Boy" anymore. Maddy - Vikram's attitude mind blowing characterisation. Vijay Sethupathi on the other hand just blows us away with his deadly and menacing performance. This man surely has swagness up his sleeve and unleashes it, making the audiences go crazy. He has more scope in the script than Maddy. The rest of the cast Shraddha Srinath has a good part to play, while Varalakshmi Sarathkumar gets to be a pivot to the film by being Kathir's love interest, watch out for her left-hand mannerism.

On the technical side, PS Vinod’s camera and his lighting create the intensity and mood for the neo- noir genre the film deals in, backed with amazing music and background score by Sam CS, especially the BGM of "Karrupu Vellai" cut by editor Richard Kevin is a treat on the big screen.

The dialogues are thrown all over to the audience posing relevant questions about good and evil and the choices one makes in our lives. The reverse chronology screenplay and attention to the minutest detail increases the pulse till the very end until the killer payoff at the climax.

NEGATIVES - Second half little bit slow in its screenplay but this film is beyond all that and it is a classic take of stellar filmmaking.

Sad news and hot trending topic of Kollywood are #VIP2 movie postponed from the date July 28th. The movie producer Kalaipuli S.Dhanu extend his regards to inform all Dhanush fans and cinema lovers that VIP2's release date is being pushed to the first half of August due to inevitable reasons.

We all know that already most expected movie #Vivegam locked their release date on August. It seems to be a high battle clash between Dhanush and Thala Ajith.

This is the most sensational Rahman concert of all time. A concert that musician A R Rahman played in London last week had an unexpected controversy on social media, with several audience members criticizing Rahman for playing a number of Tamil songs as part of his set. Most of the Hindi speaking audience walked out of the concert.

Pandigai Review by Cinemapuram Team

#Pandigai: A must watch intense action thriller. This interesting thriller focuses on underground fights, match fixing, and gambling. There are many twists and turns which cannot be revealed but keeps you hooked to the screen from the first 20 minutes of the film. New director Feroz has come up with a great script and his story telling style was totally different and makes the audience very engaged with the screenplay. 

Director Feroz takes his time to set up the characters importance and the plot in the first half of Pandigai, but in the second half, he erupts our pulse with some tense scenes, especially the robbery scene will bring the audience to edge of the seat. The way Feroz builds the twists and maintains it till the climax should be very much appreciated.

Kreshna’s film selection shows his maturity. After 2 years of gap, he came with a bang with such a power pack action entertainer. Each and every character in the film done great justice to the success of the film. Starting from Saravanan, Nithin Sathya,  (Madhusudhanan), a terrifying gangster, Aruldoss all add value to the film. Villain Twin characters slightly resemble Ghajini film villain but a really great attempt. Black Pandi’s comedy doesn’t work out really well but Karunas filled that gap. Even though he appeared less than 15 minutes of the movie, the twist he gave at police enquiry scene was a surprise laugh riot.

 RH Vikram – A talented find by the Director for Tamil cinema. The backbone of the movie is undoubtedly raw and intense BGM. For such an intense subject, music plays a vital role. He scored sixer in his debut Pandigai match. Songs could have been better.

The only slow point in the movie is the uninteresting love plot involving Anandhi . Her lip moment and voice not at all synced, few boring love scenes which we already came across in different Tamil masala films. Love portion damn sure reduced the speed of the racy script. Other than these minor speed breakers, everything else worked out well.

Verdict:  If you love action films, just go for it to witness a truly intense action film, which is thrilling and keeps you engaged for 2 hours.

Ulaganayagan Kamal sir had an image that he never acts in any advertisement except AIDS awareness or any social awareness ad's like Blood donation, Election Voting Campaign etc. But he started acting in television commercial advertisements for the sake of helping needy kids "Petraal Thaan Pillaya". The very first time he appeared on commercial Pothy's ad and it had an outstanding reach among people. 

Now for Aadi sale, he acted under Jdjery's direction completely using green screen technology. We believe due to his busy schedule in film shooting and Big Boss program, he acted in such an indoor Ad making method. The voice and Tamil pronunciation of Ulaganayagan are simply awesome and no one can match the skill.

Will VIP2 be another blockbuster for Dhanush or Epic Failure?

Everyone knows Dhanush's #VIP was the mega blockbuster of the year 2014. The movie combined with all commercial elements like comedy, action, sentiment and another important key factor was Engineering students were easily related themselves with the movie. The blockbuster made the team to bring us a sequel with more added elements but with different director and musician. Yes, this time Velraj replaced with Soundarya Rajinikanth and Anirudh replaced with Sean Roldan. Now let see will VIP2 be another blockbuster or epic fail.

Comedy : 

No one can easily forget how VIP comedy segment worked out. Vivek and Dhanush combo made us burst out laughing. Also that Thanga pushpam(Golden Flower) comedy track with Vivek sir's assistant also worked out well. This time again the same combo joined hands and in trailer we got to see many hilarious funny dialogues related to marriage and couples. Definitely, married couples can easily relate and this time also comedy track will add value to the commercial drama.

Villan : 

Last time, Baddie was the biggest drawback of VIP movie. Amitash Pradhaan did villain role, even though he looks stylish and smart villain character doesn't suit him really well.But this time, classic Kajol doing negative role against Dhanush. The look, dressing, attitude everything simply perfect and looks very apt for the role. If story plot is good, definitely the clash will be top notch for sure. 

Music : 

The biggest backbone of VIP was Anirudh's theme music. It reached all kind of audience and it's instant goosebumps for his fans. Even Dhanush using this theme for his own production company "Wunderbar" title card.In this most expected sequel, Dhanush dropped Anirudh for music and joined hands with Sean Roldan. This combo already gave mesmerizing melody album in PowerPaandi and it was sensational hit, no doubt in that. But Sean failed to satisfy in VIP2 albums. Most of the social media tweets exposed their dislikes and especially not satisfied with trailer BGM. Let wait and watch the full film and decide the result.But as a DNA crazy fan, we waiting for your mass comeback as soon as possible.

Love and Sentiment: 

In first part, mother sentiment was very emotional and touching. Most of the youngsters shed tears and promised to attend their mom's phone call at any situation after watching the movie. The movie influenced and brought a hearty impact to them like anything. In this sequel, we can expect only love portion it seems but It's going to be damn cute. Every married couple going to enjoy this movie and they can easily relate with daily fights, drunkard husband's tricky handlings with wife etc.

Action and Punch Dialogues:

In VIP, no one can easily forget the six pack Dhanush still and it became viral element since from the trailer. The trademark kick style continuing in this sequel as well. "Raghuvarana nee villana thana pathirukka" punch dialogue was meme creators one of the best templates till date because the punch reached all segment of people and celebrated by fans. No notable punch lines in VIP2 trailer, let wait and watch the movie.

Verdict :

Without a second thought, damn sure VIP2 going to be a massive hit of the year. If mass elements and comedy mixed up well, definitely it going to be the another blockbuster movie for Dhanush.

Ivan Thanthiran Review

#IvanThandhiran - The title justified the storyline and gave a strong message about education corruption in a very commercial way. Sure hit of the month. Entertainment guaranteed with some good uncliched ideas n witty one-liners. 

Pros :

 Director He narrates the story and made the audience very engaged from start to end with the fast and racy screenplay and with intelligent twists. Even though the story involves many technologies, the director has shown those pieces of stuff to laymen as simple as possible. (Romba Anukundu Aaraychi Ellam senju logical questions ellam kekkama padam parthaal mattume pothumaathu )

 RJ Balaji . He just nailed it with spontaneous timing comedy. Though few border line Adult dialogues. It can be forgotten and forgiven on the flow. His engineer's life dialogue already going viral in YouTube. Most of the students can easily relate and enjoy this fun. (Kindly avoid some A rated jokes since most of the family segment seeing you as responsible youngster in this society - Yours faithfully, fundamentally - Your Fan)

 Gautham Karthik A nice comeback movie after the big success of Rangoon. He underplayed as a hero but rocked. We expect such kind of movie selection from you.He looks more polished and good acting, especially during the love proposal scene. Surprise package Shradha Shrinath gives some decent performance. More screen presence than her Tamil debut Kaatru veliyidai. Super Subbarayan and Stunt Silva done their role perfectly. 

Cons : 

Songs are very average. 

Some unrealistic scenes like laddu/deal negotiation happening were very artificial.

 A presence of many yesteryear comedians just for one scene. Courtesy sake may be . Mayilsamy joke was really good, could have given some more scenes. 

An overall good effort by Director Kannan. Watch in theaters for a neat commercial entertainer.

Vanamagan Review

Big thanks to the director Vijay for giving decent family entertainer without any double meaning comedy or vulgar bad words.

Jayamravi always love to do experimental movies, Vanamagan is one such kind. He speaks only 5 dialogues in this movie.

Sayyeshaa , Very talented and beautiful pick for the movie, she carried the whole movie on her shoulder with realistic acting performance. 

Other castings like Thambi Ramiah and Prakashraj did their asusual job like their previous movies.Comedy worked out well for Thambi Ramaiah . Cinematography by Tirru is excellent work, beautifully shown the forest and island zone with pleasant realistic frames.

A movie speaks about tribal people and deforestation concepts but director missed details in film making,so it didn't bring any impact or make us attach towards the storyline. 

The beauty of director vijay movies are film will be realistic and natural, but this movie break that myth with lot of loopholes on the script and logic less film making ( A hero with gun shot on chest and fighting is one best pick for unrealistic picturization) It made the movie ordinary and make audience laugh at many emotional scenes.

Another big minus in the movie, the screenplay is very draggy and songs at important scenes made the whole movie seems bit lengthy and reduced the audience interest.

CGI and camera works really appreciable. Music also good but could have been better album for "Harris50" tag.

If director concentrates more on  logics and details in storyline,the movie could have been even better.

Small request to director vijay sir... People coming to theater only for your quality content sir, so dont bother or keep glamour songs in your upcoming movies.

Maragatha Nanayam Review

Maragatha Nanayam : 3.25/5

Debutant Director ARK Saravan gave us a fresh fantasy entertainer. The story revolves around Maragatha Nanayam ( Emerald Artifact) which jumps between fantasy, comedy, love, emotion and evil spirits.

The biggest plus of this movie is fresh content. We can enjoy each and every actor in the movie with their unexpected characterization. Especially Nikki Galrani’s role no one could predict in the first attempt, such a catchy role. Aadhi underplayed and gave space for all fellow actors but he slightly struggling during emotional scenes.

The noticeable characters in this movie are “Ramadoss” and “Daniel Pope”. Both carried the movie with their humor and timing counters. Along with them, ArunKamaraj killed with his voice and timing comedy.

Twinkle Ramanathan and his bodyguards from starting till end tried to make us laugh and failed at few scenes due to repetitive goofy underlings. Some gags are unnecessarily stretched and it down the movie speed.

Music Director Dhibu really a notable talent for Tamil cinema. Background score and especially climax chase scene song ( Kottai Aanda Arasan) damn good, Arunkamaraj killed with his fire voice.

In the beginning, the director fights a little while to get to the story, it makes audience tired. But once he does that, the film travels at a constant pace till the climax making the audience laugh out loud. A movie may resemble Venkatprabhu-Actor Suriya’s Mass movie but story plot is totally different. The Director’s intention is to give a light-hearted film so just go and enjoy the comedy entertainer and please don’t expect even single percent logic in the movie.

Music Genius A.R.Rahman says his ongoing project 2Point0, starring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, is a tough film to work on.Just think, how big director Shankar expecting from our Music God.

He adds,"It is the toughest film I am doing. Director is not happy with anything I am doing. I am trying to create something unique for India and the world,".

The composer had collaborated with Shankar for the 2010 science fiction drama Enthiran (Robot in Hindi) with Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa in the lead roles.

Even the southern superstar feels it is a tough job to convince Shankar. "To work with Shankar is difficult. He is a perfectionist. That is why he is one of the biggest directors in India. This movie shoots as 3D,. hence it is a totally different experience," the 65-year-old actor said. Amy Jackson, who is working with Rajinikanth for the first time was euphoric for being a part of the project. "I had no idea that I would be a part of this film with these legends. I was intimidated initially but on sets, everyone was like my family," she said.

Sources say that Anirudh has worked with extra energy and care to ensure that 'Vivegam' becomes a memorable album in his career. The album will include five songs and one international theme music as the film is an International spy thriller and Ajith plays the role of an officer with an  International anti-terrorist squad. There is also a mass intro number for Ajith in the film sung by Yogi B and this song, the source asserts will sure make everyone to dance in the theaters.
